What Makes a Credit Union Different Than a Bank?

A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that is owned and operated by its members. Unlike traditional banks, which aim to generate profits for shareholders, credit unions return profits to their members in the form of lower fees, better interest rates, and other financial benefits.

*Member-Owned: Each member is a part-owner in the Credit Union and has a vote to select the Board of Directors.
*Better Rates: We aim to offer higher interest rates on savings accounts and lower rates on loans compared to traditional banks.
*Community Focused: We are active participants in the communities where our members live. From donating money to volunteering, you will see us supporting the region.
*Insured Deposits: Deposits are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), similar to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance for banks
